This program is a great way to learn more about why patients are underserved and programs designed to provide high quality care to these patients, specifically Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)/Community Health Centers (CHCs).
Hosted for the past 11 years by the Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA), the virtual, self-paced program is a great resume builder, and IPHCA has helped many past student attendees connect with their current employers.
The tracks are designed based on discipline such as medical (MD/DO), dental (DDS/DMD, RDH), nurse practitioner, physician assistant, MPH students, behavioral health/substance use treatment students, undergraduates, and high school students.
This experience includes sessions on America’s medically underserved populations and the programs designed to provide high-quality care to patients of FQHCs and CHCs; presentations from current FQHC professionals with insight about working in this setting; examples of career opportunities and career pathways available in these settings; and discussion of loan repayment opportunities available for licensed practitioners through FQHCs.
Each participant who completes all the modules will be eligible to win prizes.
Students must register by Monday, February 12. Content will be available from February 14 to March 22, 2024.
