SNAP-Ed Community Worker in McLean County

The U of I Extension is hiring a community worker as part of its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed).

An community worker is responsible for organizing and conducting obesity prevention programs for limited-resource families and communities.

This 28 hour per week position will assist with the implementation of the University of Illinois Extension’s SNAP-Ed efforts as directed by the County Director. The Community Worker will work with local adults and youth identified for SNAP-Ed programming to provide basic nutrition, food safety, physical activity, and food budgeting education for low-income individuals. The intent of this program is to work in collaboration with SNAP-eligible families to provide educational services, information and skills that empower families to make positive changes for their health. .

This Extension office, located in the Unity Community Center in Normal, serves Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Counties.
