The weeklong virtual course provides information and skills that enable safety and health professionals to anticipate, recognize and prevention occupational illness and injuries in agricultural settings.
The Agricultural Safety and Health Core Course is presented by the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Safety and the University of Iowa School of Public Health.
Course topics include an overview of occupational safety and health in agriculture, specific hazardous conditions, common injuries, occupational diseases and conditions. A variety of prevention strategies will be covered. Presenters represent a variety of disciplines. A full list of course faculty is available here.
This course is designed for health care providers, safety and health managers, public health professionals, veterinarians and others serving the agricultural community and industry. CEUs are available for a wide variety of professions.
The registration fee includes course materials and CEU-related costs. Some fee waivers are available. Register by May 31 to receive a complimentary PPE kit. Registration closes June 6.
