Entitled Hill Day at Home, this is an opportunity to urge lawmakers to support mental health and substance use treatment initiatives – from your computer, without ever leaving the comfort of your home or office!
In 2020, the National Council of Mental Wellbeing introduced its first Virtual Policy Institute, a four-hour learning event featuring keynote speakers, legislative updates, breakout sessions and more.
The National Council for Mental Wellbeing is a membership organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of over 3,100 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults and families they serve. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is one of their key programs.
Key features include a fireside chat on program implementation of the new nationwide 988 crisis phone line coming in mid-July 2022, presented by John Palmieri, MD, MHA from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA); a panel discussion on the expected impact of this outreach advance; a panel on curbing the current substance use crisis; and a discussion of innovative approaches to current workforce shortages.
This year’s event will be held on June 8, 2-5pm CT
