USPHS Members Address Chicago Elementary School Students

On January 25th, U.S. Public Health Service members spoke with young people at World Language Academy at Little Village Elementary School in Chicago.

The presentation was part of a health care Speaker’s Bureau that the Health & Medicine Policy Research Group oversees in partnership with the Chicago AHEC.

The Speakers Bureau links professionals representing diverse health careers – from nursing and medicine to public health and psychology – to career seekers to inform, motivate, and empower them to pursue attainable health career goals.

Speakers are is available to speak to and mentor students in community-based settings – at Chicago Public Schools, local colleges or wellness fairs – about health disparities, health topics, health promotion, and service learning. They offer insights on their day to day responsibilities and their career paths.
