Working together, the Chicago, Chicago South, and Northeast AHECs are preparing to launch the Urban Health Experience (UHE). The offering is designed for undergraduate and graduate health profession students in urban counties.

The UHE will engage students in supplemental synchronous and asynchronous education, with options to complete Mental Health First Aid, Narcan certification, and urban community needs assessment projects.

Students will have the opportunity to shadow mental health, public health, and veterinary professionals in urban settings to enhance their awareness of urban health care needs. The program will culminate in an inaugural Urban Health Experience Event during the summer of 2024.
