The Illinois Public Health Association and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine invite you to join them for a virtual event that brings together community health workers (CHWs), supervisors and employers across the state to network, learn and share ideas.
The summit creates a venue for CHWs to prepare and share presentations on the work they are doing in their communities and to begin to formalize their position within Illinois. Topics will include introducing a standard CHW training curriculum and information for a statewide CHW registry. There will be opportunities to discuss a variety of topics and hear from a diverse range of presenters. Awards recognizing CHW employers, supervisors and the CHW of the Year will be presented.
The summit will highlight a variety of topics pertaining to CHW work and feature a diverse range of presenters, including Kenneth Campbell and Karen Mancera-Cuevas, Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH); Leticia Boughton Price, Illinois Community Health Worker Association; and Tracey Smith, Illinois Public Health Association.
CHWs, CHW employers, CHW community based organizations should attend. CEUs (CHES credits) are available for nurses and social workers.
