Physical Pain, Illness and Mental Health Treatment – Free CE Webinar Jan. 20

This webinar explores the relationships of physical illness and mental health. The presentation will emphasize the two-way relationship between these conditions.

For those who already struggle with their mental health, however, the onset of pain or illness can have more significant psychological consequences. Similarly, an injury, a new diagnosis, or the appearance of unexplained somatic symptoms can give rise to psychological disorders in those who previously had little trouble with their mental health.

The presentation, offered by the Compass Health Center, will discuss evidence-based interventions and their appropriate use with individuals who struggle with chronic pain and illness. CBT, DBT, and ACT will be covered, as will common challenges and issues related to medication management.

Presenters:
Megan Nogasky, JD, LCSW, Director, Mental Health, Pain & Illness, Northbrook Compass Clinic
Deepali Gershaw, MD, Medical Director, Over 18 Programs, Northbrook Compass Clinic
