Please save the date! The next “Opioid Crisis Next Door” conference has been set for June 8 in Champaign, with the theme ‘Un-Press the Pause’ on Addiction Treatment.
Topics will focus on substance use disorder treatment and health inequalities, rebooting post-COVID, harm reduction, addressing stigma, among other topics.
The conference will be held at the I-Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. We will post registration information and the full agenda once they are available from ICAHN, the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network. Students can register to participate for $25.
“Opioid Crisis Next Door” conferences have been held every year to increase awareness of opioid and heroin use in rural communities and to identify ways for communities to respond. At the first one, organized in 2016 by the Illinois Center for Rural Health, attendees pledged to work together to combat opioid misuse in rural Illinois.
