Northeast Illinois AHEC is seeking a new director. The director will guide and support efforts to prepare students to become health care providers who are attuned to the unique needs the needs of underserved rural and urban communities.
The individual in this position will provide visionary, mission-oriented leadership to the Northeast AHEC program; direct, supervise and guide staff; to recruit collaborators; and generate and sustain supportive linkages for programs and services.
The position is in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in education, training, and/or in the area of specialization inherent to the position; a master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one year of work experience. The individual will have demonstrated skill in analyzing information and problem-solving, scheduling events and activities, and written communication. Preferred experience includes grant management, student program management and evaluation, and work in a not-for-profit environment.
This is a civil service position requiring credentials assessment of submitted application materials, and passage of the civil service examination. The position reports to the Dean of the College.
