A grant-funded initiative, called Supporting Black Nurses, is part of the NIU’s Opportunities to Invest in Ourselves Project that’s supported by Northeast.

The $4,275 grant was awarded earlier this year to the program, which is run byt the College of Health and Human Sciences, Northeast AHEC’s host organization.

NIU School of Nursing student Jahrita McNeal, who is serving as one of the tutors at Supporting Black Nurses, was featured in a recent NIU Today article about the initiative.
