Northeast AHEC Seeks Students and Partners

Northeast Illinois AHEC is seeking students to become AHEC Scholars, or to receive mentorship, as well as community partners for our programs.

Become an AHEC Scholar. AHEC provides experiential learning opportunities to cohorts of students who are committed to improving healthcare in rural and underserved communities. The AHEC Scholars Program includes 40 hours of didactics and 40 hours of clinical work each year. Every AHEC Scholar receives a stipend and an Illinois AHEC Scholars Certificate, setting them apart from other students in an increasingly competitive environment. Learn more

Become a mentee. Mentorship can be one of the most significant experiences in a student’s journey, especially for first-generation college students and students from underrepresented races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, or low socioeconomic statuses. We seek college students in need of support and resources to participate in our Still We Rise health professionals mentorship program. Apply here – see and share our flyer

Partner with us. As a new Illinois AHEC center, we are eager to work with the Health care facilities, businesses and community organizations in our region to help improve the skills, quality, and availability of the health workforce in our local communities. You can help ensure that our health professionals have the skills, knowledge and readiness that you need, and that our communities can depend on. Apply here – see and share our flyer
