ISU-OSF Partnership Targets Economic and Health Benefits

Illinois State University, Central Illinois AHEC’s host organization, recently formed a partnership with OSF Healthcare intended to improve health care access and advance health-related needs through research.

The partnership, called the Connected Communities Initiative, will involved clinicians, faculty and students in projects in the areas of clinical and patient education, health care engineering, data science, and cybersecurity.

The projects aim to contribute to the area’s economic growth as well as the health of its residents.

Each partner pledged to contribute $500,000 each year toward research on health care delivery and the improving the experiences of both providers and patients in the health care system.

OSF Healthcare, a nonprofit Peoria-based Catholic organization, operates 15 hospitals and other health care facilities in Illinois and Michigan.

The partnership was announced earlier this year.
