AHEC Scholars are invited to the Decolonizing Medicine: Centering and Rebuilding Grounded Approaches to Healthcare conference. Scholarships are available.
This virtual conference is focused on culturally responsive approaches in clinical care, public health and community building. The agenda is a mix of plenary sessions, self-paced learning opportunities, concurrent sessions and poster presentations.
Topics include: sickle cell disease approaches, nutrition, cultural barriers to cancer care, trauma informed care, alternative medicine, diabetes prevention, street medicine, indigenous approaches to mental health, conflict resolution.
Scholarships are available for current AHEC Scholars. To qualify, you need to complete three online surveys after the conference. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis with a deadline of September 7, 2022. This scholarship opportunity is made possible by the support of the Weil Foundation.
