Per the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Section 1130.500, effective January 1, 2023, all licensed health care professionals are required to complete a one-hour course in implicit bias awareness training.
Implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors.
This course, provided by the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois, outlines concepts related to implicit bias and its impacts. Participants learn strategies to recognize when bias is occurring as well as the means to reduce bias in your practice.
