This all-day summit  will include presentations on topics of interest to community health workers, including substance abuse, harm reduction, healthy lifestyles and Illinois Medicaid reimbursement. Workshops designed for CHW employers will also be offered.

The summit will kick off with a listening session featuring state state Sen. Mattie Hunter (D-Chicago), state Rep. Carol Ammons (D-Urbana) and representatives from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Illinois Department of Health and Human Services and the Illinois Primary Health Care Association.

They will share how their offices are helping establish a certification and reimbursement framework for CHWs and the services they provide. After their presentations, registered attendees will provide testimony and comments about topics important to Illinois CHWs.

To provide in-person testimony, you must register September 25. Written testimony can be submitted to chlpi@law.harvard.edu until October 6. Be sure to use the subject line: “ILCHWA Testimony.”
