Get Ready to Sign Up for the 6-Week Summer Preceptorship!

In this paid, full-time rural immersion program, highly motivated health professions students learn in a real-world setting.

Image from 2024 Six-Week Interprofessional Health Professions Summer Preceptorship flyer.It’s an excellent opportunity for students to experience rural health care before clinicals, internship, and/or graduation! Preceptorship students complete 15+ days of shadowing in more than 10 different hospital departments and are exposed to all aspects of a rural community.

In 2024, the program will be available at two Illinois sites: from May 20 to June 27 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, and from May 28 to July 3 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.

Students will receive a $1,500 stipend, with housing and limited meals provided by the host sites.

The application period for the 2024 program will begin on January 8, 2024. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, March 3.
