This session for the Rural Health Partners and U of I Extension will highlight programs, resources, and partnership opportunities with the Illinois AHEC.

The presenters will be Mary Jane Clark, MS, RN, CHES, CHWC, the director of West Central AHEC and Rachel Benn, MPH, CHES, who directs Central Illinois AHEC.

They will describe how regional AHECs assist with building the infrastructure of the rural and underserved health care workforce to address gaps in education, workforce, and population health needs. AHECs use a collaborative approach with schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, health departments, and others to address these gaps.

Attendees will learn more about the Illinois AHEC Network’s mission and goals, available programs and resources, and the benefits of collaboration.
