COVID-19 Response in Diverse Communities

The Chicago and Indianapolis chapters of the National Hispanic Medical Association will present a policy forum on the challenges of COVID-19 response in diverse communities. The virtual forum, “COVID-19 and Diversity in Health Care,” brings together individuals who are engaged in this work on a daily basis.

Four speakers will be featured:

  • Maria Gomez, Emergency Medicine Physician, Mercy Health Javon Bae Hospital
  • Derek J. Robinson, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois
  • Pamela Vergara-Rodriguez, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine at the Cook County CORE Center
  • Mary M. Moran, Senior Medical Director, Vaccines Pipeline at Pfizer, Inc.

The forum will be moderated by Pilar Guerrero, NHMA Chicago Chapter Chair, and Javier Sevilla-Martir, NHMA Indianapolis Chapter Chair.

This free forum is offered by the National Hispanic Medical Association as part of a policy forum series presented by local chapters. Upcoming forums will discuss a wide variety of topics including the challenges of working in border communities, specific issues related to immigrants in detention and health literacy.
