Join us for an exciting day of mentorship, medical exposure, and networking, as we strengthen the future of health care. Black Men in White Coats is a campaign to increase the number of black men pursuing careers in the medical industry.
The summit will bring together 500 students, parents, educators, clinicians, and community leaders to inspire youth to consider careers in healthcare while laying the foundation for success via mentorship and networking. Over the course of the day, students will engage in hands-on activities and network with health care professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Boys and girls third grade and up, parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders are all welcome!
The second Black Men in White Coats Youth Summit is hosted by Chicago AHEC and the Health & Medicine Policy Research Group.
“Research shows that Black men are increasingly less likely to attend medical school and hold careers as doctors in the United States, and this decline in the availability of Black doctors exacerbates racial disparities in access and quality of health care,” says Sheronda Kimbrough, HMPRG’s Director of Workforce Programs.
