The Urban Health Experience (UHE) is a summer program for undergraduate and graduate health profession college students interested in urban health care.
The experience will include asynchronous material on urban health care needs and case study application, as well as the opportunity to design and present a capstone project based on public health interventions.
The program will conclude with in-person Narcan and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training days, scheduled for August 2 and 3. (Virtual Narcan and MHFA pre-work is required to participate in the in-person training day.)
In-person job shadowing and other events will be scheduled individually, depending on the availability of the student and site.
The 2024 UHE runs from June 7 through August 3. To be eligible, you must have completed your sophomore year by the start of the program.
Application is now open. To apply, you must include current resume or CV and a personal statement regarding why you are interested in learning about urban communities; urban health care; and interprofessional collaboration.
