We are now accepting applications from health professions students graduating in 2024. Illinois AHEC Scholars is a competitive two-year program for students who are committed to improving health care in rural and underserved communities.

Being an AHEC Scholar gives students the opportunity to distinguish themselves and make meaningful connections that can lead to future employment and career growth. The program uniquely blends community-based experiential opportunities with online training on key topics such as cultural competency and social determinants of health.

As an AHEC Scholar, you will participate in an interprofessional community service learning project and the yearly Scholars Institute. At completion, you will receive a nationally recognized AHEC Scholars Certificate.

Details:
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in a health professions degree or certificate program with at two years remaining in their training.
