AmeriCorps Openings: Chicago, St. Clair County, Southern Seven Region

The Public Health AmeriCorps program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students intending to enter the public health workforce.

AmeriCorps members are placed with a state agency, a local health department or a community-based organization. At this time the Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI) has openings in Chicago, St. Clair County, and the Southern Seven region. The Chicago member will be hosted at IPHI. Members will work on projects related to food and nutrition security, safe physical activity access, social connectedness and health equity.

This opportunity is open to upper-level (3rd or 4th year) undergraduate students or graduate-level students pursuing a degree in public health degree or related field.

Service members receive a living allowance in addition to a Segal Education award for successful completion of their 1,200 hours. The living allowance amount is $11,840 and the education award amount is $4,546.50.
