Illinois AHEC conducted a webinar on the various loan forgiveness programs available for recent graduates from health professions programs.

Four programs were covered: the National Health Service Corps, the Nurse Corps, the STAR Program and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

“At this time, all four programs require that you be employed at the time you apply – so, in order to participate, you need to investigate the programs as part of your job search,” Judith Sayad of the Illinois AHEC Program Office explained.

Teresa Strum, director of the Northwest AHEC Center, demonstrated how to register for various job search services related to the loan forgiveness programs.
