Dr. Aldred found his calling in family medicine through his rural clerkship experience with two outstanding RMED preceptors and graduates of the program, Drs. Andrew Peterson and Hayley Ralph at OSF HealthCare

“I had an application for Med-Peds, but family medicine was actually speaking to me,” he told Academy News. “And then I fell in love with the prenatal care. That’s what sealed the deal for me…”

Dr, Aldred, who grew up in rural Williamsfield, Illinois (pop. 550), will be doing his family medicine residency at University Hospitals in Columbus, Missouri. “I’m 100% going to be back in rural Illinois” after residency, he says.
