Last week, the National Center for Rural Health Professions, Illinois AHEC’s parent sponsoring organization, hosted the second annual ICAHN and Rural Hospital Networking Event, an occasion for those interested in rural medicine to make connections.
The turnout was terrific, and RMED students were able to make connections in a professional yet casual and friendly manner with these 10 hospital participants:
- CGH Medical Center, Sterling
- FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport
- Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo
- Massac Memorial Hospital, Metropolis
- Memorial Hospital, Carthage
- Midwest Medical Center, Galena
- Genesis Medical Center, Aledo
- OSF Healthcare
- Sparta Community Hospital
- Wabash General Hospital, Mt. Carmel
ICAHN, the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network – a nonprofit membership organization with 57 member hospitals – works to strengthen critical access and small, rural hospitals through collaboration.
ICAHN and the National Center enjoyed a longstanding partnership, and several rural centers are located in ICAHN member hospitals.
The National Center looks forward to hosting this event every year.
