It’s the First-ever National CHW Awareness Week

The National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) has designated August 28 through September 1 for a national campaign to celebrate and commemorate CHWs, and to engage in collaboration and action.

National CHW Awareness Week (hashtag #NCHWAW) is a time CHWs, allies, and partners to:

Celebrate: Celebrate the work we do together as a profession, workforce, and movement.
Commemorate: Honor the CHW workforce, mentors, and allies for their achievements, special services, and contributions to the CHW profession and the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Collaborate: Partnerships and collaboration are central to the CHW profession.

The NACHW has developed an extensive toolkit of ideas and activities, as well as background information, to help local organizations celebrate and expand the work of CHWs in their area, and to raise public awareness of the profession.
