Representatives from the Illinois AHEC Network presented at the 2023 Illinois Rural Health Association annual conference on August 9.
Attendees learned about the Illinois AHEC Scholars Program. The presentation highlighted how the Program is an excellent credential to see on employment applications, showing the applicant has completed 80 hours of online didactics along with 80 hours of experiential learning, as well as complete an interprofessional community service learning project.
Presenters were represented South Central, Central Illinois, Northwest Illinois, and East Central regional AHEC centers, the Northern Illinois University College of Health & Human Sciences (the home of Northeast Illinois AHEC), the Illinois AHEC program office, and the National Center for Rural Health Professions.

The presentation helped inform rural hospitals and health care organizations across the state about the work of Illinois AHEC and the benefits of the AHEC Scholars program.
