The Illinois Community Health Workers Association (ILCHWA) invites you to join them at the first annual CHW summits, to be held in Chicago and Champaign in September.

The theme is “CHWs – The Voices of the Community.” The two events will bring together CHWs, health providers, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to exchange knowledge and experiences. The programs for these one-day events combine keynote speakers, training workshops, information exchange, and networking. See details and register below.

CHICAGO SUMMIT – September 15
This event, with special guest Denise Octavia Smith, the founding Executive Director for the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW), will include

• Employer Workshops
• Pfizer Cancer Presentation
• CHW Awards
• Launch of ILCHWA’s New Website

Workshops and presentations will cover mental health, Parkinson’s, diabetes, ADHD, and more – including a CHW 101 for employers.

CHAMPAIGN SUMMIT – September 29

Guest speakers and presenters will discuss substance abuse, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, healthy lifestyle, Medicaid reimbursement, and more.
