Mental Health First Aid Training in Sparta – May 5

Mental Health First Aid Training is an 8-hour course that gives people the tools to identify when someone may be struggling with a mental health or substance misuse problem.

In Illinois, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death claiming more than 1,000 deaths each year. For young adults ages 15 to 34, suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in Illinois.

The course, provided by ComWell, is funded by a Randolph County 708 Board grant and open to the public. It teaches you how to connect a person experiencing a mental health crisis with appropriate support and resources. MHFA includes training and families, health care families, health care providers and individuals with mental illnesses. Become a certified Mental Health First Aider alongside more than 550,000 others.
