Family Life Extension Educator in Carroll, Lee and Whiteside Counties

This full time, 12-month academic professional with the University of Illinois Extension has primary responsibility for the development, delivery and evaluation of educational programs.

The educator will be expected to concentrate on human development and aging, early childhood (includes parenting; childcare provider training); healthy aging (includes brain health, long-term care, and care giving), and social and emotional wellbeing.

Activities include work in an office, based in Sterling, and outside in the communities served, and must be able to travel from one location to another in a timely fashion. Some work will be required during evenings and/or weekends

The position calls for knowledge and experience in program planning, program development, and evaluation of community based education. Previous work experiences with groups across the lifespan and teaching experiences are preferred. Requirements include a master’s degree in Family Consumer Science, Human Development, Developmental Psychology, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Adult Education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education. The degree must be completed by hire date.
