The Region V Public Health Training Center is offering stipends for health professions students to complete field placements and other experiential learning projects.
The internship program is designed for full- or part-time undergraduate, graduate and professional students enrolled in a program located in federal Region V, the Great Lakes Region (Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio or Wisconsin).
The 2023 program requires participants to complete synchronous and asynchronous activities; networking activities; a field placement/collaborative project that includes faculty and community partners. Additionally, each participant will submit a paper or poster as a final deliverable and complete several evaluation surveys including a one year follow-up.
Participants will have access to professional development opportunities.
Eligibility: U.S. citizens, non-citizen U.S nationals, and foreign nationals holding a visa permitting permanent residencye in the U.S. are eligible. DACA recipients and international students are not eligible for this federally funded project.
To qualify: Applicants must have completed their sophomore year of undergraduate studies or be enrolled in a graduate or professional health profession training program.
Time commitment and stipend: This is a 150-200 hour time commitment for which a participant receives a stipend of $3,500.
