In partnership with Rush University, the Chicago Area Health Education Center hosted its Fall Institute in November.
During this exciting weekend, 15 AHEC Scholars attended in-person sessions with speakers from medical schools and allied health fields, including presentations on creating effective medical school applications and navigating obstacles.
The scholars also participated in a harm reduction and Naloxone training facilitated by University of Illinois Chicago’s Community Outreach and Intervention Projects and completed HIPAA and bloodborne pathogen certifications.
“The topics and advice on searching for your future career was extremely useful,” said one Chicago AHEC Scholar.
