Professional Development in Communication and Supportive Care is a six-month palliative care training program for interprofessional health care professionals who care for patients with serious, advanced illnesses. It carries up to 42 CE/CME credits.
The course, part of the Coleman Palliative Medicine Training Program, will cover a variety of topics, with a focus on communication and supportive care. Other topics include: cultural humility, implicit bias, and understanding possible serious illness outcomes.
The course kicks off with a full-day in-person conference on September 12 at the beautiful Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. For those unable to travel and attend, Coleman will be offering this same conference virtually on September 16. Indicate your preference on the registration form. Subsequent training is via webinars with a monthly time commitment of 4-7 hours.
Cost varies by profession. Scholarship rates are available for providers at safety net sites, federally qualified health care centers and rural sites without access to palliative care.
Space is limited.
